YOUTH SPEAKER: Holland Webb. His topic was 'Tithing.'  He told us that tithing is a test of faith with eternal blessings!

SPEAKERS: Sister Donna & Brother Brent Heaton:

Sister Heaton explained that they had been away from this ward for six years serving with one of the Young Single Adult Wards. She was a Relief Society Advisor for three years. The officers & teachers in the YSA wards are all young people with the exception of the Bishopric. She was regarded as a "shadow leader.'
She told us of Elder Ballard's counsel to the young people to 'move forward with their quests to find an eternal mate.' She also referred to his conference talk of 2014 where he told us to 1) Stay in the Boat (the Church).
2) Wear our life jackets
3) Hold on with both hands
Whatever else happens - STAY IN THE BOAT!!!

Brother Heaton told us that today is the 2nd day of the Jewish Passover; Jews are to celebrate Passover in memory of Moses bringing the Children of Israel out of Egypt. Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem on a donkey four days before his sacrifice on the cross. It was tradition to find a 'lamb without blemish, four days before it was to be sacrificed.'  Christ instituted the Sacrament after the Last supper, since the Law of Moses had been fulfilled. He then went into the Garden of Gethsemane where he gave himself as a ransom for Each One of Us!!!
Brother Heaton then told us about a principle he heard in Elder Dale G. Renlund's conference address: 'The greater the distance between giver & receiver, the more the receiver develops a sense of entitlement.' Nephi prayed; Laman & Lemuel would not pray & distanced themselves from the Savior. The closer we are to Christ the more we want to repent.
