MISSIONARY PLAQUE: Elder Gavin Johnson, who just returned from an honorable mission in Brisbane, Australia, was given his Missionary Plaque. He was also our first speaker; he told us that his mission is a blessing to him; that he learned about Christ-like service. He & his companion were always thinking of others & praying for them.
And it turns out his topic was "Increasing our testimonies through Christ-like service." He quoted Mosiah 2:17 & John 7:17, (I'll let you look those scriptures up.) and told us we need to lift each other up & praise & compliment each other. And, that the foundation of our gospel is LOVE!!!

HIGH COUNCIL SPEAKER:  Brother Vaotupua Feula (former Bishop of the 9th Samoan Ward) spoke about Prophets speaking the word of God. He told a conversion story about a young man who'd been taught the gospel but couldn't accept Joseph Smith as a prophet. He joined the military & ended up at a Stake Conference in Europe where President Ezra Taft Benson was speaking. This young man was sitting clear in the back on one of 2 empty chairs. He uttered a prayer that if this Ezra Taft Benson was really a prophet that he would come sit by him. After Pres Benson spoke, he shook a few hands then made his way to the back of the cultural hall; stopped & shook hands with this dumbfounded (my word) young man, then sat down on the empty chair beside him! A true conversion story!
He spoke of King Benjamin & quoted Mosiah 2:9.
He then quoted Pres Monson from our General just a few weeks ago: "Choices we make determine our destiny." And then "May we ever take the harder right instead of the easy wrong."

BENEDICTION:  Brother Ron Hellbusch
