BOY SCOUT HIKE - MICHAEL MULLINS

It is my understanding that these hikes are 5 miles in and 5 out so they do at least 10 miles. The hike starts at 5 pm Friday & they return by 10 am Saturday.
The Scout in charge is to appoint an assistant from the Deacons. A route is planned with the help of the assistant.  Prayers & talks are also planned & someone assigned to give the Scout Oath & Law.  Information about the hike is passed out. The assigned Scout leads the troop on the hike and plans a spiritual presentation for the night activity. After returning home or to the Church, awards  (candy) are handed out to the young men.
On March 25th the Bloomington 3rd Ward Young Men, troop 383, led by Michael Mullins, hiked off of Navajo St. on to BLM land and out to the Virgin river. They had 8 young men hike a total of 12 miles(6 miles in & 6 miles out?) and set up an overnight camp. They had to bring water and food, a tent and sleeping bag. Those who participated in addition to Michael Mullins, were Aaron Jr Carey, Carter & Holland Webb, Gage Baresco, Nate Davis, Guy Ludlow & George Lamb.
This Troop makes me mighty proud to be in this Ward!!!
