Youth Speaker - Jamelle Mullins.
Jamelle's Timely topic was 'Language." She told us that how we communicate should reflect who we are and invite the Spirit, and to choose friends who use good language. And she also told us that gossiping is a form of bullying! I had never thought of that. Thank you, Jamelle!
Farewell talk: Harrison Cruz - called to New Jersey Morristown Pennsylvania Mission.
He told us the story of Alma and Amulek back in 82 B.C, and of the Judge, Zeezrom who tried to bribe Amulek. When Amulek wouldn't be bribed Zeezrom called for all the women and children in that society to be burned alive and Alma and Amulek were thrown into prison. After much suffering the Lord delivered them by causing the prison to collapse, killing all but Alma and Amulek. Harrison then Quoted Alma 13:6 - "And thus being called by this holy calling, and ordained unto the high priesthood of the holy order of God, to teach his commandments unto the children of men, that they also might enter into his rest..."
And he told us how the priesthood helps missionaries: 1) they receive their call. 2) receive the authority, 3) go out and preach the Gospel.
He then related the Story of Saul's conversion from Acts 9 and told us the reason he is going on a mission is because of all the blessingS he has received, AND because his Dad went on a mission!
We were then favored with a violin solo by Ariana Dansi,
Accompanied on the piano by Brother John Sato.
Our concluding speaker was Brother Randy Watson who thanked the ward members who had searched for their son, Chance, who had taken a long walk last week all by himself!
(We are All so grateful that Chance was found unharmed!)
He also spoke of his gratitude for Priesthood Power.
BENEDICTION was offered by Brother Gordon Larson.
